絵を描くという行為は、画家自身の心情や内面性を強く反映させるものである。
画家自身の姿が描かれているかどうかに関わらず、画面内に筆致や色彩などで作者の行為の痕跡を残すことにより、画家達は自己のアイデンティティを確認したり、自身の内省的な部分を表現してきた。
画家は、キャンバスと向き合いながら常に自問自答を続け、自身の精神世界をキャンバスや展示空間に生み出してきた。
化粧という行為も、絵画と同じく、皮膚を通じて自己の存在を確認する行為である。
私達は化粧品を皮膚にのせて、美しく装ったりコンプレックスを隠したりすることで、自己の感情や心情、欲望を表現している。
化粧品の色は心身共に身近な色材であり、私達は化粧という行為によって、日々自己表現をしているのである。
絵を描くという行為と化粧という行為は、自己の存在を確認する点や自身の心情や内面性を表現するという点で大きな役割を担っている。
その為、私の描く絵は、全て自画像であり、自身が日々使用している化粧品で描かれた絵画は、より強く自身の存在を強く浮かび上がらせている。
社会や文化が混迷し、自己という存在が社会の中で曖昧になりつつある今こそ、生を認識する為に自己を見つめなおす必要がある。
化粧品で描かれた絵画によって自己の存在や内面を再認識することは、自分自身が今この時代をどう生きていくべきかを考える手掛かりとなるのである。
The action, “draw paintings”, strongly reflects the painter’s own feelings and personality.
Painters of the past and present have been confirming their identities and expressing their introspection by leaving traces of their actions on the canvas with brush strokes and colors.
They have been creating their own spiritual world on the canvas in the exhibition space.
The action, “put make-up on”, is also to confirm one’s existence as same as the action, “draw paintings”.
We express our feelings, emotions and desires by putting cosmetics on our skin, dressing up beautifully, hiding our inferiority complex.
Drawing painting and putting make up are both playing the important roles that they both confirms the existence of oneself or expresses one’s feeling and inside.
Therefore all the paintings I draw are self-portraits using the cosmetics I use every day.
They reveal my existence deeply.
Now it is a strong need to look back at ourselves in order to recognize ‘life’ in these confused cultural society, in which the ‘existence’ is becoming so ambiguous.
To recognize one’s existence or one’s self is the key to know how we want to live in today’s world.
